Chattanooga RiverRocks Festival Events

Whether you just want to watch some of these great athletes compete, or whether you want to get in on the action itself, there is plenty to do in Chattanooga during the month of October.  You’ll find plenty of opportunities to try new activities, enjoy great music, and take advantage of the city’s incredible outdoor spaces. From trail running, hiking, cycling, paddling, climbing, and more, you’ll soon see why Chattanooga is an incredible adventure destination.  Some of the festival events include:

  • Rock/Creek Stump Jump 50K, October 1:  This race is considered to be the largest and most competitive 50K trail race in the Southeast. It takes place on the beautiful singletrack trails of Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge, and features an elevation gain of more than 4,400 feet.
  • Swim the Suck, October 8:  This 10-mile, open-water swim through the Tennessee River Gorge, which has been a part of the RiverRocks Festival from the beginning, is one of the most sought-after open-water swims in the world.
  • 7 Bridges Marathon, October 16:  Take a scenic tour of downtown Chattanooga across it’s scenic bridges. You’ll cross the Tennessee River multiple times throughout the race, and will see some of Chattanooga’s top attractions along the way.
  • Triple Crown of Bouldering, October 21:  A bouldering competition at one of Chattanooga’s premiere bouldering destinations, Stone Fort (formerly known as Little Rock City).
  • Chattajack 31, October 22:  Chattajack, one of the largest paddling events in the country, is a unique endurance kayak/paddleboard race featuring a 31-mile trip through the Tennessee River Gorge.
  • Trailblaze Challenge, October 22:  If a 26 mile run across Chattanooga’s most scenic bridges isn’t enough for you, perhaps a 26 mile hike is.  This beautiful new event begins at the base of Cloudland Canyon and finishes atop Lookout Mountain at Lula Lake Land Trust, and benefits Chattanooga’s Make-a-Wish East Tennessee.
  • Chattanooga RiverRocks FestivalLula Lake Land Trust 5 Points 50/25, October 15:  This is Chattanooga’s ultimate endurance mountain bike race, with a new 25-mile option, perfect for those novice racers who want a taste of an endurance mountain biking.
