Discover Lookout Mountain

Our Inn’s prime location on Lookout Mountain gives you endless opportunities to explore this beautiful natural setting, which features massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species, and breathtaking panoramic views.  Start your day with a delicious and relaxing gourmet breakfast at our Bed and Breakfast, then head across the street for a day of adventure like no other.

Ruby Falls

Since Ruby Falls opens early at 8am, we recommend starting your day plunging far below ground to the depths of Ruby Falls.  Ruby Falls is the world’s tallest underground waterfall, and is truly a beautiful sight to behold.  Guided tours lead you through a fascinating cavern to the sparkling 145-foot underground waterfall.  Inside the cave, it’s a constant 59 degrees, so be sure and take something warm while underground.

Rock City Gardens

Rock City Gardens is a truly spectacular sight, and a definite must-see attraction when you’re in Chattanooga.  Here, you’ll discover soaring rock formations, beautiful caves, and lush gardens.  From here, you’ll also find what are considered to be the best views over the Chattanooga Valley.  From a elevation of 1,700 feet, Lover’s Leap, Observation Point, and the famous Seven-States View are absolutely stunning on a clear day.

Incline Railway

Take a 1 mile  journey up Lookout Mountain’s Incline Railway, made famous as the world’s steepest passenger railway. This iconic railway has been in operation since 1895.  For some added interest, stop in the Incline Railway’s Machine room, where the giant gears that pull the railway operate.

Civil War Battlefields

The Chickamauga and Chattanooga Military State Park is the largest and oldest Civil War National Park.  Civil War history enthusiasts should not miss a visit to both Lookout Mountain Battlefield and Chickamauga Battlefield, where the Battle of Lookout Mountain took place.  This battle is widely considered to be a major turning point in the war for the Union Army. Also, Sunset Rock, a popular trail and tourist stop, is located on the northwest side of Lookout Mountain and is part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga Military State Park.  Once known as Point Lookout, Sunset Rock provides a view of the Tennessee River, Signal Mountain and Prentice Cooper State Forest.

After your fun day of exploring the beautiful attractions on Lookout Mountain, you don’t have far to go to return to the luxurious accommodations at our romantic Bed and Breakfast.  Enjoy the natural beauty of Lookout Mountain this fall when you Book your room at our luxury Bed and Breakfast.
